Nice hotel; great for short or weekend break; reasonably priced
Nice hotel overlooking the sea. Room was in the attic area and was cold as radiator not working properly. Receptionist very good brought up extra heating & extra duvets. Very cosy come time for bed. Plenty of choice for breakfast. The hotel shares a spa & pool with it's neighbour, you have to go outside to get there now, plans for walkway hopefully goes ahead.
Great little hotel, fantastic location. Two minutes walk to the village and Shanklin Chine. The beach is very close too, although there are steps down to it, ok for us. Then the promenade is just a short walk from there.Lovely breakfast, very friendly staff. Room comfortable and clean, tea and coffee facilities in the room. Great for dog owners, dogs are very welcome here.
A lovely stay. Staff all helpful and friendly, but main reception and stairs could benefit from a paint. Overall for the price was excellent.
A large group of us recently stayed for the Buses and Beer weekend - in fact we filled the hotel with 48 people. Last year we also stayed for the weekend but with fewer people and enjoyed it so much we thought we would book again. The food was excellent, the room clean, the staff and service very good, the location of the hotel on the clifftop is excellent and only a short walk into 'old Shanklin', however I was very surprised to be charged 40 extra this year for the same room (and the same dining break)! I would have expected to pay the same rate or even lower as we filled the hotel and spent a lot in the hotel bar. Needless to say I will not be going back again next year!
